It’s the first day of December, 2017!! Happy new month, people! It is also the first Friday of the month and guess what has been happening every first Friday of December since 2006?
You guessed wrong. 😂
Today’s The Experience! The 12th one so far. I didn’t even know anything about The Experience until last year or was it 2015? Anyways, The Experience is an annual gospel music concert which holds at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan environ, Lagos Island by House on the Rock in Lagos where Gospel artists from around the world come to Nigeria and people gather to praise and worship God.
I’m not going to tell you about The Experience and what it entails because that’s what Google is there for. I’m not even smiling right now. This is a lamentation. Oh yes! A lamentation!! I had been looking forward to TE12 since last year and then just last week, I heard we were writing a test today. Why was it today of all days? I was saddened because I knew I couldn’t leave my test and travel to Lagos instead. I consoled myself that there will be next year.
I was getting over it. In fact, I had already gotten over It because my cousin will definitely give me updates and there’s Instagram. It wasn’t until yesterday that I realized that today’s a public holiday and my test had automatically been cancelled. I could have made it to Lagos! I for make am!! I mean, I was free throughout yesterday and I’d have left Delta state for Lagos early in the morning. Biko, who has felt the way I’m feeling right now? I can’t even…
I’m going to miss the live performances of awesome gospel artists like Don Moen, Travis Greene, Sonnie Badu, Nathaniel Bassey, Donnie McClurkin, Eben and the rest.
Travis Greene 😭😭😭
TE12! TE12!! Why wouldn’t I be able to behold thy beauty? Why wouldn’t I be part of the wonderful experience that comes with worshipping God with thousands of other people in the largest concert in Nigeria?
Okay, I’ll stop lamenting now. I’m an adult and I know that there’s no need crying over spilt milk. I know that The Experience 13 will not pass me by next year. Mind you, if you’re in Lagos and you’re not going to be attending this programme by 7pm today, you’ll be missing out big time! I was willing to travel from Abraka to Lagos for this. Trust me, it will be worth it.
Until next time loves,
