A disclaimer is in order as I’d like to let you know that the only reason I watched the first season of Bridgerton, a trending series on Netflix is because I was pressured into seeing what the fuss was all about.
Did I regret it? No.
This isn’t a review but if you’re not into love, romance and matchmaking, you might not find Bridgerton interesting and you might probably end up like someone I know who sleeps within the first five minutes of watching a movie.
It is assumed that if I have seen this series, the entire world has seen it because what time do I have for movies these days? However, it is out of the kindness of my heart that I’m telling you that this blog post contains spoilers. I can’t have you hate me later. You’ve been forewarned.
When I started the series, I didn’t know what to expect. All I know is that this guy was everywhere on social media and I wasn’t finding it funny.

But I get it now, I do. Some people are fine and others are fineeeeee!!! Regé-Jean Page killed his role as Simon, the Duke of Hastings, and yeah, that’s it.
I was captivated by the series, no lies. I was awake all night watching and when I eventually slept, I dreamt about some scenes and I’m not even joking. I’ll be sharing my top five scenes in Bridgerton with you in no particular order. I’ve seen these scenes at least twice since I completed the series because I can’t help myself.
So we have:
The scene where Simon Confesses his love for Daphne to the Queen:
Look at that! No, just look at that!! His words made me swoon. This scene was so pure. Look at how she was looking at him 🥺. If I was the one being talked about like that, I’d have started weeping on the spot. Although the Duke said these things to convince the queen to allow him to marry Daphne, he meant every word. This scene is everything. God when? 😭😭😭
The scene where Daphne’s mum tries to explain sex to her on her wedding day:
So in the movie, Daphne is innocent and she knows absolutely nothing about sexual intercourse. On her wedding day, her mum tries to explain it to her and her discomfort was hilarious 😂😂😂

It was quite funny to watch this woman explain sex to her child because I could relate it to how some of our mothers shy away from the subject and fail to give proper sex education. Most times, girls have to get these lessons elsewhere. Daphne suffered because of this lack of knowledge but she pulled through.
The famous scene where they burned for each other:
After watching the scene, this was me:

I mean, look at this drama. We get that he was filled with passion but did he have to shout? 😂
It didn’t stop there. The babe burned too 😌.
Anyway, the scene was intense and the only people we’re considering this year are people that buuuurrrrnnnn for us. Amen?
The “I love you, I love all of you” scene:
I can relate to this scene because I have given speeches like this one to people I love and have loved before and even though most of them ended in tears, I’m glad that this one did not end in tears and things fell into place. Love is a beautiful thing, please.
And…
The scene that unmasked Lady Whistledown:

I never would have suspected that Penelope will be Lady Whistledown. I read somewhere that we should never underestimate a wallflower. The truth of the matter is that the people we think are insignificant or of no consequence are often the people that wield power. I’m still in shock!
There you have it tho’ – my top 5 scenes. If you didn’t know before, I guess it’s now obvious that I’m an incurable romantic and I love to love, and just in case you weren’t aware, Bridgerton was adapted from the novels by Julia Quinn – The Bridgerton series. Those books are eight and as much as I love reading, I don’t think I’ll read all of them. I’ve already started the first book – “The Duke and I”.

I cannot wait for season two.
Love,
‘Ruona. ❤️
P.S:
How was your week?
Have you seen Bridgerton? Did you like it?
You’ve not seen it? Will you?
What are your top scenes?
How about your worst scenes?
On a scale of 1-10, how much of a romantic are you?

I enjoyed every scene of bridgerton, making me wish I was born in that century, mehn I never suspected that Penelope would be Lady Whistledown I thought it would be lady Danbury, even when the clue was there, cos how did lady Whistledown find out marina was pregnant, bridgerton is definitely a good watch

Yeah, Penelope was one of the few people that knew about Miss Thompson’s pregnancy. I suspected Lady Danbury too.
Glad to know I’m not the only one that enjoyed it. As for living in that century, lmao no please. Those gowns look uncomfortable 😂.

Hhmmmm Bridgerton 😭❤
I’m a hopeless romantic so this movie was showing me too much of myself lol
I could totally relate.
I can’t start talking about love here because e no go end😂😂😂
In the end, love is actually such a beautiful thing. Its more than just a feeling, its a choice and the beauty unfolds when both parties understand and make that choice everyday.
The scene where she was saying “all your flaws” bla bla bla all I could think about was how Christ loves us tbh and how we’re supposed to love like that, that’s the only template that works in my opinion!
Just putting it out there; there’s no one that’s undeserving of love but some people are not ready to love intentionally and so try to discern, so you don’t keep pouring out yourself and all of your energy for someone that’s not ready or doesn’t value you. Daphne and Simon worked because both of them were willing even with the miscommunication and all, they valued each other enough to want to clear the air.

So on point! So on point! On point, on point!!!
Last paragraph – it takes two people who are willing.
You’ve said it all. Thank you, Chidinma 💜

I should’ve stopped reading when you said there will be spoilers 😭.
I’m still in the episode where they suspect it’s the French seamstress. I mean I suspected Penelope at one point butttt… I hadn’t gotten to the big reveal.
Let’s me go and complete it ASAP.

So I waited to comment until Id watched few scenes.
I’m a romantic. And I do love the series.
I love how innocent Daphne is.
It’s just sad how not every girl has a female figure to be so open with as she is with her mum.
Oh. And I’m still in Episode 4.
So thank you for the spoilers. 😒

I’ve not watched it o, but omo, it sounds like all these sappy romantic movies and feels kind of like a Romeo and Juliet thing from the dialogue.
